Who am I?

Created in partnership with Southampton Digital Humanities, this interactive game allows you to explore different criteria of personal identity. It considers both what a person is, and what makes us the same person over time. You will examine this idea of selfhood by engaging with a simple but perplexing question: Who am I?

Unlike most interactive games, your choices will rarely reach a conclusive end. Often, your choices will steer you towards different theories, or be met with common objections. Therefore, the game can feel circular. However, this 'circularity' represents the liveliness of philosophical debate, where there is rarely an end to the discussion. In this regard, the game will certainly provide a well-rounded introduction to the philosophy of identity.
